Art Around our School

The Wooden Owl

We wanted to commission a distinctive piece of artwork to welcome visitors to our school and were fortunate to find the talented sculptor, Daniel Cordell, to create a magnificent wood sculpture of our school logo, a tawny owl.  Located outside the entrance to the school it provides a lasting visual reminder to pupils, staff and visitors of our core values of love, hope, joy and forgiveness.

Every child in the school, from Reception to Year 6, created a feather to stick on Mike the Owl. Some of the feathers also carried a message to Mike, a memory from school or a wish. See Mike just inside the entrance hall above the fish tank.

Swimming into the cloakroom outside the small hall is our shoal of Art Club Fish.
