We want children to be enterprising: resourceful, imaginative, able to work well with each other – and above all able to take initiative and put ideas into action.
This term children have undertaken fundraising projects.
Year 2 organised a cake sale to raise money for the Ebola crisis. See their Year 2 page for information and photos.
Year 6 took part in a Dragons' Den competition. They had to work colloboratively to complete market research, design a product, write a pitch and present it to the Dragons. Thanks to the Dragons (from local businesses) who allowed the children to practise their presentation skills.
In year 6 we are trying to raise enough money to fund a year book to help us remember our time at St Michael's. In term 2 we organised a second hand book, CD and DVD sale. We sent a letter home to ask for any donations, made posters to advertise the sale and organised the classrooms into an appropriate sales environment. We then invited years 4,5 and 6 during school and opened the sale up to parents after school. We raised a staggering £282! Thank you to everyone who donated and supported the sale.
