Covid Premium

The Covid Premium is the additional grant that has been given to schools by the government to support children's return to school from September 2020. This grant is for the school year 2020-21. For us it is worth £50,000 (our school budget is approximately £3 million). We are also putting in an additional £50,000 from the school balances to support pupils. We have also factored in a loss of £50,000 through reduced income and additional cleaning costs.

Our main areas of spending are:

Support for mental health and wellbeing (mainly through mentor programmes and Thrive)

Support for individual pupil attainment (additional Teaching Assistant time)

Support for groups/individuals (catch-up programmes): extra teacher support

Accessing 1:1  tuition programme (targeted pupils)
