St Michael's CofE Primary School

- Let Your Light Shine -

  1. Our Community
  2. PTFA

Welcome to the PTFA!

Hello and welcome to St Michael’s PTFA (Parent, Teacher and Friends Association)!  By being a parent or carer at St. Michael’s, we are all automatically members of the PTFA and our ultimate aim is to enhance the learning experiences of our children by raising funds to extend the opportunities available to them at school.

We’re a friendly bunch and we meet once every term, more regularly when we are working towards an event.  We share the workload so that nobody ever goes home with a long list of jobs.  The more hands we have to help, the fewer jobs involved.

We are a Registered Charity No: 1035983 and are members of Parentkind UK.

On the pages which follow we can introduce you to the PTFA Team, our calendar of events, and show you how we have spent the most recent monies raised.

If you have any questions then please do not hesitate to contact via email or our Facebook page.  We look forward to seeing you soon!

How You Can Help

Volunteering

All of our events are fun and rewarding for parents and children alike, and great for the community.  We are always in need of volunteers to help on the day – even some of our smallest events take a huge amount of organising and there's lots to be done on the day to enable all the activities to take place.  Without the support of people like you the events would have to be scaled down or cancelled.

Why not get involved with our next event?  Please get in touch if you can help - even if it's just an hour on the day.  Every offer gratefully received.  fundraising4stmichaels@outlook.com

Love Shopping for Bargains?!
If so, you need to join our team of bargain hunters who snap up bargains all year round.  The PTFA "Secret Room" is open for Mother's Day, Father's Day and Christmas Day presents, but we can never have too many thrifty shoppers.  In addition, if you love wrapping let us know - you can either take a bag of presents to wrap and drop back to school, or join others for a "wrapping" social. fundraising4stmichaels@outlook.com

Donation Boxes

Please donate any items that would be suitable for our school raffles. Hampers, unwanted toiletries or gifts are always appreciated and will raise much needed funds for our school.  The donations box is inside the front door of the school at the office.

St Michael’s School Uniform

Please donate any St Michael’s uniform back to school for us to sell. We have a dedicated FB page for uniform and a hard working team of volunteers who can repair the general wear and tear on most donations, or, if the item is beyond repair it can be turned into bunting for school, or a memory teddy to ensure that as little as possible ends up in landfill and can be re-loved by St Michael’s children for years to come. Please drop any uniform to the donations boxes at the school office and/or if you are in need of St Michael’s uniform please get in touch with one of our volunteers. https://www.facebook.com/ptfauniform

Clothing Recycling Bin

If you don’t wear it, share it. Did you know you can re-cycle your clothes and shoes at school?  We have raised over £490 in the last year through our on-site recycling point located by the large hall at the front of school.   Ask your friends and family if they have anything to donate and fill the bag as much as possible with the items listed at this website   https://www.recycle4school.org.uk/items-we-accept/

Matched Funding

Does your employer offer to match funding? If the answer is yes please get in touch, fundraising4stmichaels@outlook.com

Some companies either match hours or amounts raised.  So for every £1 or hour you volunteer for the PTFA they will give school money. Some companies can match any funds raised and other have limits on the amount they can match. We can give you any letters or information your employer might need and this could help us boost our fundraising significantly.
